A taste of the National Trust at home

Clipper Teas, the ethical tea brand owned by Wessanen UK and official tea partner to the National Trust, has launched its exclusive National Trust tea in stores, making it widely available for consumers to enjoy at home.

Created especially for, and in collaboration with the National Trust, the new blend is now available in an 80-bag pack from Sainsbury’s stores nationwide.

Also supporting Fairtrade, the flavoursome blend is an East African tea made with a generous weight of Assam tea from India. The first-grade leaves are sourced from trusted, quality tea gardens and together deliver a brisk, rich and full-bodied flavour.

The attractive packaging design is inspired by the wisteria that climbs the wall of National Trust property, Hidcote Manor, where it is believed the first cup of National Trust tea was brewed.

Clipper became the official tea supplier to the National Trust cafés and restaurants in 2016 where National Trust visitors drink more than 3.5 million cups of tea a year.

Since both brands first started working together there was the ambition to give consumers access to the same rich and satisfying tea at home.

We are proud to be able to support a national treasure with every cup of our new tea and give consumers the opportunity to enjoy it at home. When developing this new blend, our Tea Masters Dan and James were focused on an invigorating blend – one to refresh and comfort you after a day spent in the great outdoors of the National Trust. Consumers can be assured that when buying this blend, not only are they supporting the National Trust to care for the land, nature and our national heritage sites, but they are also supporting Fairtrade who ensure farmers are paid a fair wage for making the tea people love. With 250,000 hectares of land and 775 miles of coastline, the National Trust encourages visitors to immerse themselves in the natural world. Clipper’s National Trust Tea can be enjoyed at the National Trust’s 343 cafes located in stunning locations across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Clipper was the UK’s first Fairtrade tea company. Founded in Dorset in 1984, Clipper manufactures an extensive variety of organic and Fairtrade teas and coffees – from everyday blends to green tea and infusions. All of Clipper’s products are made with pure ingredients from the highest-quality sources, with nothing artificial added.
